DAY 2: TUESDAY, OCTOBER 20 | HONORING GOD BEYOND LIP SERVICE
Scripture Reading: Mark 7:6–7 & Isaiah 29:13
Jesus diagnosed religious legalism by quoting Isaiah: 'These people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.' He called them hypokritēs; stage actors wearing religious masks. It is dangerously easy to memorize the evangelical script, sing the songs, and keep a full church calendar while our hearts remain distant from God. Vain worship occurs when human rules and personal comfort replace true heart devotion. God is never impressed by fluent lips when the heart is in eviction status.
Prayer Prompt: Father, forgive me for times I have offered empty words or mechanical worship. Draw my heart close to Yours in intimate truth today.
Action Step: Spend 10 minutes in quiet reflection before praying today, focusing entirely on God's holiness rather than your outward checklist.
