DAY 5: FRIDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2026 — TOUCHED BY THE ALTAR OF GRACE

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 6:6–7 & 1 Corinthians 11:27
Isaiah's vision of God's holiness left him shattered and undone, but God did not leave him in ruin. A seraph flew from the heavenly altar with a burning coal, touching Isaiah's lips and declaring his sin purged. The very holiness that exposed his brokenness became the source of his divine cleansing.

This is the beautiful reality of the Gospel and the Table of Communion. We do not draw near to God boasting in our clean track records or religious achievements; when measured against absolute holiness, we are all undone. But Jesus Christ went to the altar of Calvary, shedding His blood to cleanse our souls completely. When we reclaim our awe of God's holiness, we don't run away in terror, we run to the cross in overwhelming gratitude, cleansed and ready to serve Him.

PRAYER PROMPT
Precious Savior, thank You for the altar of Calvary where Your broken body and shed blood cleansed my soul. May I live this day in deep gratitude for Your grace and reverent awe of Your holy name.

ACTION PROMPT
Prepare your heart for the upcoming Lord's Day by practicing quiet reflection (1 Cor 11:28). Confess any unconfessed sin, extend forgiveness to anyone who has hurt you, and step into worship with joy.
