TUESDAY
The Sovereign Landscape

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope." — Jeremiah 29:11 (NKJV)

It is easy to look at the world around us—or even our own personal lives—and see absolute chaos. We see roadblocks, difficult authorities, and structural setbacks. When the ancient Israelites were waiting for the Messiah, they saw the Roman Empire as nothing but a cruel, conquering tyrant.

They couldn’t understand why God was allowing pagan rulers to control their land. They wanted immediate rescue from their circumstances. Yet, God was using those very Romans to clear the Mediterranean of pirates and build a massive network of stone roads.

He used Alexander the Great's conquests centuries prior to establish a universal language, Koine Greek. God built the roads and established the language so that when the Gospel burst forth, it could travel faster and safer than ever before.

God is never caught by surprise by the landscape of your life. He doesn't just work around your difficulties; He actively uses them to shape a future full of hope.

PRAYER PROMPT:
Father, help me to see past the immediate hardships and frustrating roadblocks in my life. Give me the spiritual eyes to trust that You can use even the most difficult circumstances to accomplish Your beautiful plan for me.

ACTION PROMPT:
Think of a current personal hardship or "roadblock" you are facing. Instead of praying for it to immediately disappear, pray specifically for God to show you how He might be using it to build character, resilience, or an opportunity to serve others.
