Day 4: Thursday, August 27 — Rivers, Not Reservoirs
“John 7:38 — “...out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” | Proverbs 11:25 — “...he who waters will also be watered himself.””
Devotional Reflection:
The Sea of Galilee is teeming with life because the Jordan River flows in and pours out. In contrast, the Dead Sea receives fresh water but has no outlet, becoming stagnant and sterile. Jesus did not save you to be a dead-end reservoir hoarding spiritual blessings; He made you a river. When God's grace flows through you in service, generosity, and witness, you and those around you thrive.
Prayer Prompt: Lord, don't let my life become stagnant. Make me an open channel of Your grace, love, and generosity to everyone I meet today.
Action Prompt: Perform a deliberate, sacrificial act of kindness or encouragement for someone today without expecting anything in return.
