The Baseline Truth: Christ Died, Was Buried, and Rose

Scripture: 1 Corinthians 15:1–4

When asked to explain the Gospel, Paul defined what is of 'first importance' in three clear facts: Christ died for our sins, He was buried, and He rose again on the third day according to the Scriptures. We all owe a spiritual debt to God because of our sin that good deeds, church attendance, or moral willpower can never pay off. But because God loved us too much to leave us in our brokenness, Jesus became our substitute on Calvary, bearing our guilt and crushing death once and for all.

Prayer Prompt: "Lord Jesus, thank You for taking my place on the Cross, bearing my sin and shameful secrets, and rising victoriously from the grave. I anchor my soul today on the unmovable rock of Your finished work."

 

Action Step: Memorize the three core facts of 1 Corinthians 15:3–4 so you can clearly articulate the essential Gospel message in 60 seconds whenever an opportunity arises.
