DAY 2: TUESDAY, SEPT 8:
WE WORK FOR GOD'S GLORY

Scripture: Nehemiah 3:1 •  1 Corinthians 10:31

Nehemiah's roster of workers surprisingly begins not with professional masons, but with Eliashib the high priest and his fellow priests rebuilding the Sheep Gate and consecrating it. By getting their hands dirty in manual labor, these spiritual leaders demonstrated that any work done for God's purposes is holy. We often treat work as a secular prison of drudgery or an idol for personal identity. However, Scripture commands us to do everything, even the most mundane tasks, to the glory of God. We do not labor to build our own temporary empires, but to point others to His eternal kingdom.

PRAYER: Lord, shift my perspective from secular survival or self-glory to Your glory. Let the attitude and excellence of my work today be a testimony of Your grace.

ACTION: Before you begin your work, chores, or studies today, pause and verbally offer that specific task as a direct, holy offering to the Lord.
