Reclaiming the Sacred - Monday

Scripture Reading: Isaiah 6:1–3
Imagine walking up to the rim of the Grand Canyon for the very first time. The sheer depth, scale, and grandeur take your breath away, leaving you standing in silent, reverent awe. Yet, if you look around, you will often see people walking by casually, glancing at their phones or chatting as if one of the wonders of the world were nothing more than a crack in their front yard. Through constant exposure, breathtaking majesty becomes mere background noise.

In our spiritual lives, we are prone to doing the exact same thing to Almighty God. When we drift, we trade genuine reverence for familiar routine. We walk into corporate worship and personal prayer distracted, critical, and self-absorbed. We stop beholding the blazing purity of God and instead reduce Him to a background element in our busy lives. Reclaiming the sacred begins when we stop treating the Creator of the universe as ordinary and ask God to restore our wonder of His holiness.
