DAY 4 | Thursday, September 24, 2026   —   Pillar #3: Expecting to Meet God in Worship

 

Scripture Reading: Acts 2:42c, 46 “...in the breaking of bread... So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart."

The 'breaking of bread' in Acts 2 points to both the Lord’s Supper and communal meals. Moments where believers gathered with reverent awe to encounter the living God. Too often, we treat worship as an item on a Sunday schedule rather than a holy encounter. We walk into sanctuary doors without expectation, going through religious motions. The early church gathered expecting God to show up, move hearts, and transform lives. When worship becomes routine, we lose our holy fear and settle for familiarity. God calls us back to gladness, simplicity, and active expectation.

Prayer Prompt: Holy Spirit, revive my worship. Forgive me for treating corporate gathering as routine. Prepare my heart right now to enter Your presence with deep reverence, awe, and expectant faith.


Action Step: Before you arrive at church this coming Sunday, spend 10 minutes in quiet prayer asking God to reveal His presence and move powerfully in our congregation.
