DAY 1 | Monday, September 21, 2026   —   Bedrock or Drywall? Examining Our Foundation

 

Scripture Reading: Acts 2:40–41 — "And with many other words he testified and exhorted them, saying, 'Be saved from this perverse generation.' Then those who gladly received his word were baptized; and that day about three thousand souls were added to them."

We often evaluate church like a consumer in a restaurant: Was the music to my taste? Was the sermon the right length? Did I get what I came for? Over time, we subtly lower the bar, exchanging supernatural bedrock for comfortable programming. But God never designed His church to be a casual social club; He engineered it to withstand spiritual tremors. The first church was built by true believers bound together by persistent devotion, not convenience. Before we inspect the building, we must ask: Are we building our lives on God’s master blueprint or man’s comfortable imitation?

Prayer Prompt: Lord God, forgive me for the times I have approached Your church with a consumer mindset. Dig deep into my heart and remove any superficial drywall. Realign my priorities so that my life rests firmly upon the bedrock of Jesus Christ.


Action Step: Audit your church attendance and engagement over the past month. Identify one area where convenience has replaced deep devotion and surrender it to God today.
