Day 3: Wednesday, August 5  —  Grace, Not Merit

“Luke 7:6–7 — “Lord, don’t trouble Yourself, since I am not worthy to have You come under my roof. That is why I didn’t even consider myself worthy to come to You.””

Devotional Reflection:
The religious leaders tried to present the centurion’s resume to Jesus, arguing that he 'deserved' a miracle because of his good deeds and patronage. But the centurion himself knew better: before the Lord of glory, no human achievement creates a debt God owes us. Worldly religion tries to bargain with God using works; saving faith casts that resume into the fire and throws itself entirely on the unmerited grace of Christ.

Prayer Prompt: Father, I come before You today boasting in nothing of my own doing. Thank You that Your grace is a free gift, and help me to approach You with humble gratitude rather than self-righteous pride.

Action Prompt: Write down three things you were tempted to trust in for your worth today (status, hard work, good deeds), cross them out, and write 'Saved by Grace Alone' over them.
