Day 2: Tuesday, August 4 — Order Out of Chaos
“Luke 7:8 — “For I too am a man placed under authority, having soldiers under my command. I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes...””
Devotional Reflection:
Imagine a busy city intersection where the traffic lights suddenly go dark. Everyone has power under the hood, but without a governing authority, total gridlock and chaos follow. When we try to live by our own power (dynamis) rather than yielding to King Jesus’ supreme authority (exousia), our lives quickly become spiritually chaotic. True peace and order come when we submit every decision to the sovereign command of Christ.
Prayer Prompt: Jesus, You are the rightful King of my life. Forgive me for relying on my own strength and creating gridlock in my decisions. Bring Your divine order and peace to my day.
Action Prompt: Before making any key decision today, pause for thirty seconds and ask Jesus to direct your steps and authority over that situation.
