Day 1: Monday, August 3  —  Surrendering Our Stubbornness

“Acts 7:51 — “You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit.””

Devotional Reflection:
In Exodus, God often referred to His people as 'stiff-necked'—picture an ox locking its muscles so the farmer cannot turn the plow. In our human stubbornness, we often resist God’s authority, fearing that submission means a loss of freedom or fun. But just like a parent warning a child away from a hot stove, God’s boundaries and commands are given not to restrict our joy, but to protect our lives from the painful consequences of rebellion.

Prayer Prompt: Lord, show me where I have stiffened my neck against Your word. Help me to lay down my stubborn pride and trust that Your commands are meant for my protection and ultimate good.

Action Prompt: Identify one area of your life where you have been resisting God's guidance or instruction. Consciously yield that area to Him today in prayer.
