Day 5: Friday, August 7 — Believing Without Seeing
“Luke 7:9 — “Jesus heard this and was amazed at him, and turning to the crowd following Him, He said, ‘I tell you, I have not found so great a faith even in Israel!’””
Devotional Reflection:
What amazes Jesus is not impressive religious credentials or outward shows of holiness, but absolute, childlike trust in His word. The centurion did not demand signs or physical proof; he simply believed Jesus was who He said He was, and trusted His authority completely. Saving faith stops trying to manage God and simply bows in surrender, following Him wherever His Word leads.
Prayer Prompt: Heavenly Father, anchor my heart in the truth of Your Scriptures. Give me a faith that stands firm on Your promises, trusting You completely even when I cannot see the outcome.
Action Prompt: Memorize Luke 7:7 or another favorite verse today as a reminder that God’s Word holds ultimate authority over every circumstance.
