Day 3: Wednesday, August 12  —  A Sacrifice Like No Other (The Cost)

“John 3:16c — “...that He gave His only begotten Son...” | Romans 6:23 — “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.””

Devotional Reflection:
The story of Jesus is not built on commercial transactions or bargaining with God. It is built on a free, priceless gift. When scripture says 'He gave,' our eyes must fix directly on the cross of Calvary. God didn't just offer sympathy or encouraging words from a safe distance; He gave His best—His only begotten Son—as a complete substitutionary sacrifice to ransom the worst.

Prayer Prompt: Heavenly Father, I am humbled by the immense cost of my salvation. Thank You for giving Your Son to pay a debt I could never afford. May my life be a living sacrifice of gratitude to You.

Action Prompt: Identify something you are holding onto tightly (time, finances, pride) and make a conscious act of generous giving or service today as an echo of God’s sacrifice.
