Day 3: Wednesday, August 19 — A Conquest Like No Other (He Was Physically Raised)
“1 Corinthians 15:4, 6 — “...and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures... After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once...” | Matthew 28:5–6”
Devotional Reflection:
The resurrection of Jesus is grounded in solid historical fact. Over 500 eyewitnesses saw the resurrected Christ at one time! Unlike Lazarus, who was resuscitated to natural life and eventually died again, Jesus was resurrected into a glorified, indestructible body, conquering death forever. The Greek word for 'raised' signifies an ongoing reality: Jesus is alive today! Because He lives, death no longer has the final word over those who trust in Him.
Prayer Prompt: Resurrected Savior, I rejoice that You are alive today and hold authority over death and the grave. Fill my heart with the joy and power of Your endless life.
Action Prompt: Memorize Matthew 28:6 today (“He is not here; for He is risen, as He said”) as a daily reminder of Christ's victory over the grave.
