Thursday: The Obedience of Creation
DAY 4 • LISTENING TO HIS COMMAND
|
Mark 4:39 & Jeremiah 17:5 |
When a human being yells at a hurricane, it is a sign of helplessness or mental instability. But when Jesus commands the sea, nature instantly recognizes its Creator and obeys. With three simple words—'Peace, be still!'—the crashing waves flattened into glass and the howling wind ceased immediately.
Because of His supreme power, nature obeyed without hesitation. This leaves us with a compelling question: If the wind, waves, and natural elements obey the voice of Christ instantly, why do we hesitate to obey Him? Jeremiah 17:5 warns against trusting in human strength and departing from the Lord. True wisdom lies in recognizing the Master's voice and submitting our lives to His authority with the same prompt obedience displayed by the wind and the sea.
