Witnessing the sudden calm, the disciples were filled with reverent awe, asking, 'Who can this be?' As long as you believe you have the power to save yourself, you will never truly look to or stand amazed at the Savior. It often takes a storm to shatter our self-reliance so we can behold His glory.
The greatest storm humanity ever faced was not meteorological; it was the storm of God's judgment against our sin. We were completely helpless and perishing. Yet Jesus Christ stepped into that ultimate storm on the cross, letting the waves of judgment swamp Him so that we could be brought safely to eternal life. If He can conquer sin, death, and the grave, He can handle whatever storm you face tomorrow. Stop trying to play God, surrender control, and marvel at the Savior.
