The Perfect, Beautiful Paradox

“...full of grace and truth.”
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”

We often struggle to balance grace and truth. In our human relationships, we tend to lean heavily toward one or the other. We might offer cheap grace—overlooking wrongs, wearing masks, and pretending everything is fine when it isn't. Or we lean toward harsh truth—pointing out flaws, setting rigid expectations, and pushing people away. But Jesus came with the perfect, beautiful paradox: He was completely full of *both*.

Because Jesus is full of grace, you can come to Him exactly as you are today. You don’t have to clean up your act, put on a spiritual performance, or hide your doubts. He met us while we were still messy, broken sinners. Grace means you are fully accepted.

Yet, because He is full of truth, He refuses to leave you in your brokenness. His truth provides an unshakable, secure foundation. His sacrificial death on the cross fully paid your sin debt, satisfying the demands of justice. Truth means His promises are unbreakable. You can have absolute, rock-solid confidence that He will do everything He said He would. You are completely known, and yet completely loved.

"Jesus, thank You for welcoming me with absolute grace and holding me secure with absolute truth. Help me to drop my defensive masks and rest in Your perfect love today."

Is there an area of your life where you feel shame or feel like you have to 'fake it'? Write it on a piece of paper, write 'GRACE AND TRUTH' over it in bold letters, and throw the paper away as a symbol of release.
